The Australian government is planning to bring back its citizens stranded in Nepal due to the lockdown.

A chartered flight of Nepal Airlines carrying PR holders from Australia, New Zealand, and Australia is scheduled to return on May 6.

The Australian embassy in Nepal is going to arrange a chartered plane on the basis of the request given due to the lockdown in Nepal due to Corona.

Earlier, the Australian government had chartered a plane to repatriate its citizens.

About 500 Australians and New Zealanders and PR holders at the Australian Embassy in Nepal have requested to return home, so for the third time, the embassy has chartered a plane to bring back 265 people to Australia.

Nepalis living abroad have expressed grief that the Nepali government has not addressed their grievances.

They demand that their government, like other countries, repatriate them.

"It is the responsibility of the Nepali government to repatriate every citizen stranded abroad. Plane accommodation is not a big issue," said Shamsher Singh Thapa, a Sydney-based lawyer.

"On top of that, the state should take immediate initiative to repatriate its troubled people after the arrival of the national flag bearer," Thapa added.

Thapa argues that the government has neglected to bring back the empty plane even after rescuing the Nepalis stranded abroad.

However, experts say that it is difficult for the Nepalese government to repatriate even Nepalis living in India due to fear of Coronavirus infection.

"Accountability to the people is a matter of importance for every nation and government. At the same time, Australia is working to repatriate Australians stranded in the corners of the world at their own expense.

Nepal should also do this for its people ', the plane that came to Australia should not return empty, it should take the Nepalis stranded here', said Dilla Kharel, former treasurer of NRN Australia.

Nepal's ambassador to Australia, Mahesh Raj Dahal, said he had not received any information on the matter.

He said that an initiative had been taken to repatriate the Nepalis who were in trouble on a chartered plane from Nepal but the decision of the Nepali government could not be implemented.
